The micro region Rýmařovsko
The micro region Rýmařovsko is located in the North-Eastern part of the Czech Republic close to the border with Polands and is part of the Moravian-Silesian Region. It is situated in one of the most attractive tourist parts of the Jeseníky mountains, it's dominant and orientation points is the highest Moravian mountain Praděd.
Almost a third of the micro region Rýmařov area is a part of the Protected Landscape Area of the Jeseníky mountains, further of the Natural Park in the Sovinec region and area of Natura 2000 and colourful and abundant nature are its prerogative. Important part of the micro region is also covered with forested areas (app. 50 % of the area). The character of the nature provides exceptional conditions for tourism and recreation in all seasons. It offers ideal snow conditions in winter with the longest skiing period in the Czech Republic.
The micro region associates 14 villages with around 18 thousand inhabitants. The town of Rýmařov is a catch town and it creates a natural centre to surrounding villages Stará Ves with the Žďárský brook, Dolní Moravice with Horní Moravice and Nová Ves, Malá Morávka with Karlov, Malá Štáhle, Břidličná with Vajglov and Albrechtice, Jiříkov with Sovinec and with Těchanov, Rýžoviště, Horní Město with Reěov, with Dobřečov, with Skály and Stříbrné Hory, Tvrdkov with Ruda and Mirotínek, Velká Štáhle, Dětřichov nad Bystřicí with a local part Krahulčí, Václavov u Bruntálu and Lomnice.
The Rýmařov region lies in one of the most favourite tourist areas in the Nothern Moravia and in Silesia - in the Jeseníky mountains. Thanks to well-preserved and diverse nature are the Jeseníky mountains with its foothills the paradise of all tourists and actively thinking people.
It is possible to observe the highest mountains of the Hrubý Jeseník mountains and the Kralický Sněžník from eight watchtowers, which change with the romantic nature of the Nízký Jeseník mountains, the Rychlebské mountains and lumpy hills of the Osoblaha region. The dominant of the Jeseníky mountains and the highest mountain of Moravia – Praděd (1 491 m), often called "The Moravian Glacier". People interested in learning something would get amazed by a series of natural, historical and sacral attractions, but also the youngest water dam in the Czech Republic the Slezská Harta, which is placed 15 km from Rýmařov. The Slezská Harta dam offers you not only the possibility to practice water sports, but also fishing.
Sufficient amount of precipitation in the winter guarantees good snow conditions for winter recreation in well accessible accommodation and restaurants. Cyclobuses in summer and ski buses in winter are in operation in the direction Ostrava – Ovčárna, Olomouc – Malá Morávka – Karlov, Šumperk – Ovčárna and Krnov – Ovčárna.
Perfectly maintained marking of paths, variability of their strenuousness and length would satisfy every mountain lover. For further cognition of nature were created educational paths with information boards and description of natural interesting things. Cyclo-tourist paths lead through interesting places up to less frequented roads, rural roads and forest ways.
The biggest skiing centres of the Jeseníky Mountains Malá Morávka - Karlov and Praděd offer slopes of different difficulty, which are suitable for experienced skiers and also for beginners. Maintained and well kept cross-country skiing routes and laps are connected to the "Jeseníky trunk road" Skřítek – Malá Morávka – Karlova Studánka – Praděd - Červenohorské sedlo – Keprník – Šerák – Ramzová and it offers to cross-country skiers nice view along their routes. Of course there are offered services for tourists such as bike, ski rentals and their owners are very kind.
